Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about our grit bin refilling service.

How much rock salt does a 110L grit bin hold?

A 110L slimline grit bin holds approximately 80–90kg of rock salt when filled to capacity. Our standard refill brings the bin back to full, ensuring you have a full season's supply ready to go.

How much salt does a 200L grit bin hold?

A 200L standard grit bin holds approximately 150–160kg of rock salt when filled to capacity. This is one of our most popular sizes for car parks, shared driveways, and medium-sized commercial premises.

Do you supply the grit bin as well as refill it?

We specialise in refilling existing grit bins rather than supplying new ones. If you need a new bin installed, get in touch via our contact page and we can advise on the best options for your site.

Do you refill commercial grit bins?

Yes - we refill grit bins for commercial premises including offices, retail parks, industrial estates, car parks, and shared access roads. Our fixed pricing applies regardless of whether the site is residential or commercial.

Do you provide grit bin services for property management companies?

Absolutely. We work with property management companies, housing associations, and estate managers across our coverage area. We can service multiple bins across multiple sites under a single order, and multi-bin discounts apply for 2 or more bins.

How often should a grit bin be refilled?

Most grit bins need refilling once per winter season, typically between October and March. High-traffic sites or those in exposed locations may need a mid-season top-up. We recommend checking your bin levels in November and again in January.

Do you cover Reading?

Yes - Reading is within our Berkshire coverage area. We service addresses across Reading and the surrounding towns including Caversham, Tilehurst, Earley, and Woodley.

Do you cover Oxfordshire?

Yes - we cover South Oxfordshire including Henley-on-Thames, Wallingford, Didcot, Abingdon, and the surrounding villages. See our dedicated Oxfordshire page for a full list of towns we serve.

Do you cover Buckinghamshire?

Yes - we cover Buckinghamshire including Marlow, High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Amersham, and the surrounding areas. See our dedicated Buckinghamshire page for a full list of towns we serve.

Can you service multiple properties under one contract?

Yes - we regularly work with clients who manage multiple sites. You can include multiple bin locations in a single order, and our multi-bin discount applies: 5% off for 2–4 bins and 10% off for 5 or more. Get in touch via our estate management page for larger portfolio enquiries.

Can you provide service records for each visit?

Yes - we can provide confirmation of service for each refill visit on request. This is particularly useful for property managers and estate agents who need to demonstrate due diligence for health and safety purposes. Please mention this requirement when placing your order.
